Industries have begun restarting their operations in a calibrated way, specifically in green zones with around 33% staff and are focussing on demand and priorities. Companies are ensuring business continuity without compromising on the health and safety of its staff against Covid-19. Although it is early days to predict a near accurate impact, it is important to not only survive but continue to grow by adapting, adopting, and reshaping, transforming businesses through product and process innovations.
The Government of India has extended the lockdown upto May 17 with some relaxations. It has demarcated districts within states and union territories into red, orange and green zones. India presently has 130 red zones, 284 orange zones and 319 green zones and the good news is that government is allowing industrial activities to restart their operations in green zones with reduced workforce.
It is extremely important for the manufacturing industry, once they begin their operations, to follow the guidelines and spearhead operations in a focused manner. The industry needs to primarily focus on survival and explore opportunities and diversify their business to cater to newer segments. Strategy, planning, resilience and leadership will be put to the test in this mission.
IMTMA is bringing you information on efforts by countries across the world including India to tackle the situation. The e-newsletter gives an insight into news, advisories, and notifications from the central and state governments in India and the best practices that Indian and global industries have adopted to combat this pandemic |
